Tips and Tricks to Silky Smooth Hair

by Miranda Kay June 19, 2020 3 min read

We girls are always after beautiful looking hair. We want that silky shine and soft feel that we see in all the commercials on screens. However, realistically, this can become pretty hard to do.

Maintaining nice hair can be awfully difficult to do, especially in hotter temperatures like in the summer or in the spring. Especially when try new things that can damage our hair such as new styles, straightening, curling, and new products (Don’t even get me started on Sun In).

Heat damage, product buildup, and so much more have become enemies to our hair. They can cause damage to our hair that causes it to break, stretch, thin out, and just look unhealthy over all.

Our goal is to help you get your hair to looking back and better than ever! We have researched and found some things you can try to get that happy, healthy shine. Not only that, but we can assure you that this will taste amazing too!

Amazing Ingredients for Your Hair and How You Can Incorporate It into Your Diet

These yummy fruits and veggies are rich in potassium, which promotes hair strength. Not only that, but these foods are preventative to hair loss. There is everything you could want and more in these beneficial foods.

1. Bananas

Everyone knows that bananas are chock-full of potassium and have a wide range of benefits. It is beneficial to your health, hair, and skin.

Bananas also contain vitamin B6, vitamin C, folic acids, natural oils, antioxidants, and manganese. These are all amazing for your overall health.

Now we could rage on about how great bananas are for you, but that would take all day. So let’s get right down to it:

You will need to grab

  • 1 Large Banana
  • Milk
  • Soaked, peeled almonds*
  • Assortment of seeds (i.e. Chia)
  • Cinnamon
  • Honey

*NOTE: You can replace the milk with almond milk and skip the peeled almonds.

Mix all of your ingredients as you desire. There is no specific ratio needed here. Just add until you get your desired flavor and blend! After that, pour it into a nice glass and enjoy the benefits from this delicious smoothie.

2. Beets

This may sound a little weird to you, considering most people don’t eat beets all that much. It isn’t too flavorful on its own, but when paired with the right foods and prepared the right way, it can taste delicious.

Beet is full of benefits for your body. It has potassium, magnesium, lycopene, phosphorous, calcium, several vitamins, and antioxidants. As you can see, this is a powerful food.

It also has the benefit of looking AMAZING! I mean, who wouldn’t want a purple drink? It gets its color all on its own, making your drink naturally spectacular.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 1 Medium Beetroot
  • Half of a Lemon (Lime works too)
  • 2 Stalks of Celery
  • 1 Green Apple

To prepare, just put all of your ingredients into the blender (EXCEPT FOR THE LEMON!) and blend into a beautiful purple drink. Squeeze your lemon into your drink after blending. For the best results and taste, drink your drink immediately after preparing it, otherwise it will oxidize and lose its rich flavor.

3. Celery

Celery has always been known to be good for you, and it is now even trending to drink celery juice, as it promotes many benefits. It promotes weight loss, strong immune systems, and a healthy gut.

90 percent of celery is water, which promotes hydration as well as weight loss. Celery also contains Vitamins K, A, and C, as well as potassium, folate, and antioxidants. Water is important for healthy hair as it strengthens follicles and hydrates your scalp. This is essential to achieve the shiny hair you want. This drink will help balance the pH in your scalp and hydrate your hair, which prevents dandruff and an itchy scalp.

Once again, this ingredient is not too flavorful, but mixing it with delicious ingredients will excite and amaze you, leaving you wanting more.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Half of a Cucumber
  • 5-6 Stalks of Celery
  • 1 Green Apple
  • Half of a Lemon (or Lime)

After cleaning you ingredients, put the celery, cucumber, and apple through a juicer. Once again, do NOT do this with your lemon. After juicing your ingredients, squeeze in your lemon and then enjoy!

And that’s all there is to it!

Enjoy these delicious drinks for happier, healthier hair and have the silkiest locks of your life!
