Water to Heal the Mind

by Miranda Kay May 03, 2021 2 min read

The pandemic has taken a huge toll not only on our physical health but our mental health too. Receiving bad news and experiencing worse case scenarios has affected our way of thinking, but that doesn't mean we should bury ourselves underneath our blankets. Just by simply taking a sip of refreshing water from time to time, you will surely find yourself doing something productive as a result later on.

To begin with, are you aware that the brain contains 73 percent of its total capacity in water? Such a huge number! Even though water is essential for the correct functioning of all organs in the body, dehydration has been found to have a substantial impact on brain function, affecting not only physical but also psychological well-being.

Most doctors recommend that you drink 6-8 glasses of water every day, depending on your weight and degree of exercise. People who are experiencing acute feelings of depression or worry, on the other hand, commonly fail to drink water and instead choose caffeinated beverages to enhance their energy levels. Switching back to water as soon as possible will bring you better results.

Water, as we know from basic science, can release endorphins into the brain in an indirect manner. Endorphins are produced by our body to relieve stress. This is where drinking water as a solution comes in. Because of enough hydration, your body and internal organs are in peak physical condition! Your hormones are in balance, and you are in peak physical condition when you have enough water. The combination of all of this is beneficial to both the mind and the body since it helps to keep the brain lubricated and free of negative emotions such as stress and sorrow.

Dehydration, on the other hand, may have a detrimental impact on your mental health if you do not drink enough water. Dehydration manifests itself in a variety of ways, including irritation, sluggishness, and the inability to think clearly. We shouldn't take the chance that a little case of sorrow would develop into a full-blown case of depression or anxiety.

The more water we drink, the better our emotions get. If you've been dehydrated during the day, you can always get yourself back on track by drinking lots of liquids in the evening. Because of this, you will be able to move forward with your life by flushing your problems away with the help of some water.

Refresh your mind by taking a sip of your refreshing water to clear your head and get your foggy thoughts under control.

One way of helping yourself be constantly reminded of drinking more water is our hydration tracker water bottle that can be a good aid for you! Do not let any negativity ruin your day. Your mental health matters the most, and to know that water can lift you in high spirits rather than drowning you is such an amazing thing to manifest.
